Eye Shadow Primer Substitutes

Today I have been testing out substitutes to eyeshadow primers for those of you who don't want to fork out £14.50 for Urban Decays Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I did my research and found out what people thought were supposed to be good substitutes and came up with the following products below.

1. The Body Shop Mango Body Butter  2. No7 Essential Moisture Day Cream  3. Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer  4. The Body Shop Skin Primer  5. Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm  6. No7 Stay Perfect Foundation  7. Lipstick (Brand Unsure)  8. Witch Hide & Clear Natural Concealer Stick  9. Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder

I put a little of each product on my arm and swatched some eyeshadow on them.

I used Natural Collections Solo Eye shadow in 'Asteroid'.

Below are the swatches after half an hour.

You can't really tell any difference in the photos but this is the order i have decided to put them in from what works best (1) and what works worst (9).
1. Lip Balm
2. Body Butter
3. Liquid Concealer
4. Face Primer
5. Moisturiser
6. Foundation
7. Lipstick
8. Concealer Stick
9. Face Powder

I bet you didn't expect that a good use for lip balm would be eyeshadow primer, did you?!

Urban Decay The Revolution High Performance Lash Curler

The other day I was 'surfing the net' and came across a product which i think is just amazing, and it's the Urban Decay The Revolution High Performance Lash Curler. This lash curler is not like any other and if you want to see why then just take a look at the photo below.

As you can see UD have steered away from your usual cage lash curler and have gotten away with the bars on the side and have replaced them with this neat little spring.

And thanks to the new spring and lack of side bars, you can easily avoid tweaked lashes.

You can purchase this handy little thing from the Urban Decay website if you are in the US fro $20, but if you are in the UK like me, then you can purchase them on the House of Fraser website for £16. I haven't actually purchased this myself yet but I will soon, so watch this space for a review!

Dermalogica Clean Start Face Wash for Teens

Hi everyone!

So this is my first ever blog post and I'm kind of excited about it. I've wanted to start a beauty blog for a while but I didn't really know how to go about it, so I decided to go with something I knew. Now, enough with the rambling, let's get on with it!

For quite a while now I have been using Dermalogica products but I often found them a bit harsh on my young skin, so I was really excited when Dermalogica announced that they were going to be bringing out a new line of washes and creams especially for teens.

Left to Right: Smart Mouth Lip Shine; Ready, Set, Scrub Masque; Wash Off Cleanser; All Over Clear Toning Spray; Brighten Up spf15 Tinted Moisturiser; Bedtime for Breakouts Night Treatment; Welcome Matte spf15 Moisturiser; Hit the Spot Overnight spot treatment.

I've been using these  products for a while now and I absolutely love them! When I was a child I was one of these children who would get out all of her toys and get my mum to put them all away -what I'm trying to get at here is that I really love putting my make up on but I hate it when it takes ages to take it off. So if you're like me then this is the perfect thing for you as it only takes a few minutes.

1. I start off by foaming up the cleanser and applying it to my wet face.
2. Once the cleanser has been washed off you apply the toning spray.
3. Then, depending on whether it's morning or evening, you either apply the moisturiser or the night treatment.
